Family Photo Window

My husband has been keeping this window around forever and I finally put it to use! I custom made my own Family Decal through Uppercase Living-Kathie Cole and then had the family photo printed at a printing shop here in town. I would like to add another family photo to the top pane of the window. This sits on my mantle.

Crystal Candle Stands, Candle, and Mocha Chimneys all purchased from Gold Canyon. I love this set up because it is so versatile and you can use all these products in lots of different ways. If you put a small tea light in the chimneys  and the glow from the flame looks great!

Tie-Up Curtains

Tie-Up Curtains

My poor mom had to sew these curtains for me when I came up with this complicated idea! The fabric is from Moda Fabrics and was chosen to accent the room. I purchased a jelly roll, which is used for quilting, and then cut each strip into 2"x2" pieces. Then each piece was sewn together into strips then the strips were sewn together to make a long panel. The top and bottom solid/pattern pieces were added after. A solid cream backing was sewed to the back and then the ties were added. These were super complicated and pretty pricey! Fabric is NOT cheap! But they were so worth it! There are actually three windows in the kitchen so for the third window that is over the sink I made a shorter valance that matches.

There are thousands of ways you could decorate with the tealight trio! I took some gravel from my driveway for one, decorative rocks for another, and small pine cones for the last. I found the old rusted metal gear in an old dump site near Emblem, WY.

This is another one of the windows. I simply too this one and set it beside a large vase I already had. This was a great addition to this small corner wall in the kitchen.

Mason Jar Planters

Mason Jar Plants
I created my own mason jar planters by cutting a piece of barn wood at 19" and then attaching  3 metal hose clamps at 3", 9.5", and 13.75". Then I just went to the green house and got three house plants for $2.95 a piece and planted in some old jars I had downstairs! I put rocks in the bottom half of the jar for some sort of drainage for the soil so the plants are not sitting in a puddle of water.

I found these old wooden windows in our chicken coops behind our house and thousands of crafty ideas came to mind when I saw them! This was one.
I added a shelf, made out of old barn wood, to the frame and then set some old jars and a plant on it. I am still not done with this piece and would like to add another element to it!
